Terms of Service

1. The Service

MiniPic (“we”, “us”) provides online image compression for formats including PNG, JPEG and WebP, batch processing in the browser, and a developer API. We continuously improve the Service and may add, change or discontinue features as our operations require; where a change materially affects your rights, we will give reasonable advance notice.

2. Eligibility and accounts

3. Quotas and fair use

Free quotas reset on a calendar basis (UTC). Paid plans have no daily cap but are subject to a fair-use soft limit; exceeding it only lowers your queue priority and never blocks processing or triggers extra charges.

You must not abuse the Service through scripted overuse, circumventing rate limits, monopolising resources or any other improper means. For activity that is plainly abusive or that endangers the stability of the Service, we may throttle, suspend or terminate access.

4. Acceptable use and your content

You represent that you own or have all necessary rights to the content you upload, and that your use of the Service complies with applicable law. You must not upload, process or distribute images that:

We may carry out automated safety screening of uploaded content to meet our legal obligations. Content that is detected as unlawful may be blocked and deleted (and is not counted toward your usage). You are solely responsible for any liability arising from the content you upload.

5. Ownership and the licence you grant

You retain all ownership of, and intellectual property rights in, the images you upload. You grant us only a limited licence strictly for the purpose of providing the Service to you—namely receiving, temporarily storing, compressing and transcoding your files, and running automated safety screening. We do not use your content to train models, for analytics, for sharing with third parties, or for any other purpose, and we delete it promptly after processing as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Our intellectual property

The MiniPic name and logos, the website, applications, compression engine, documentation and all related materials are owned by us or our licensors. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, rent, resell or otherwise exploit them without our written consent.

7. Fees and refunds

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. We are not liable for loss caused by force majeure, network failures, third-party service disruptions, your own misuse, or your breach of these Terms.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you actually paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. Please keep your own backups of important images.

9. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time from your account settings or by contacting support; we will then handle your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. If you materially breach these Terms or the law, we may suspend or terminate the Service to you and reserve all rights available under law.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at our place of establishment, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of your country of residence. We will try to resolve any dispute amicably; failing that, the dispute will be subject to the courts with jurisdiction at our place of establishment, again without prejudice to mandatory rights to bring proceedings locally.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you through an on-site notice or other appropriate means and update the version number and effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Contact us

If you have any questions about these Terms or need help (including refunds and account closure), email us at [email protected].
